Yes! We offer quantity discounts to everyone* and free WindowMizer licenses to qualified users. In order to qualify for the discounts, licenses must be purchased at the same time.
Quantity discounts combined with 2 activations per license makes WindowMizer a HUGE bargain. WindowMizer's cost per computer is only a tiny fraction of what other windowshade applications cost. If you don't need your 2nd activation, you can split the cost with a friend or colleague or allow a family member to use your second activation.

Yes! You can download WindowMizer free of charge and try it before commiting to a purchase.
In demo mode, WindowMizer is fully functional but it will quit after 20 minutes. You can use demo mode repeatedly. Purchasing a license will remove the time limitation.
To activate WindowMizer version 2 or version 3, enter the same email address and password that you use to log into your RGB World account. If you do not remember your password, you can reset it here.
To activate WindowMizer version 4 or higher, enter the Activation Code that was emailed to you when you completed your purchase. Your Activation Code(s) are also listed on your Account > Downloads page.
Note: You must own a license before you can activate the app.
WindowMizer has been removed the Mac App Store because it no longer meets Apple requirements due to its use of the Accessibility API. In order to improve WindowMizer and add new features, we chose to remove it and distribute it ourselves.

As far as I am aware, there are only 2 methods available to control windows that do not belong to your own application.
The first method involves writing a hack that injects code into all other applications. While this method may work, it can lead to instabilities in those applications. Additionally, as is evidenced by the demize of WindowShade from Unsanity, this type of hack is becoming more and more difficult to accomplish, due to new security features of recent Mac OSes. This security trend is expected to continue, so when developing WindowMizer, a new approach was necessary.
The second approach, and the one adopted by WindowMizer, is to use Apple provided methods to control other applications windows. By using approved methods, it is more likely that the ability to control other windows will not break with every OS upgrade.
So, to summarize, WindowMizer is an application because the only other alternative is a system hack, and that method breaks too easily.
