After Catalina Thumbnails Are Transparent

Is there a setting I am missing that turns off thumbnail transparency? After upgrading to Catalina, the thumbnails are no longer showing the actual application window, just a transparent image with title bar and application icon. I have never selected transparency so I have to wonder if it's because of the upgrade from Mojave to Catalina. Any ideas how to get rid of transparency? I'm using WM 5.3.1.
